Another is the new business legal clinic, which helps people start businesses in the Akron area. Some students perceive 鈥渉ealthy amounts of competition.鈥� Others don鈥檛. 鈥淵ou see your fellow classmates as colleagues,鈥� says a 1L. 鈥淪tudents here aren鈥檛 that competitive,鈥� adds a 3L. 鈥淚 have helped several students and others have helped me study for exams.鈥� Beyond the confines of the classroom, a respectable number of speakers come to campus and the student bar association is 鈥渧ery active.鈥� Socially, 鈥渢here is quite a divide between day and evening students鈥� and 鈥渢here are a lot of cliques.鈥� The city of Akron is 鈥渁 small, insular community.鈥� It鈥檚 not the worst place in the world, but it鈥檚 certainly not a world-class city, either. 鈥淒owntown Akron is not, shall we say, appealing in many ways,鈥� explains a 2L. 鈥淪ome areas are nice, but some areas abutting campus are sketchy.鈥�
