The University of South Carolina's School of Law is the state's only non-profit law school, bringing legal innovation to the education of students for more than 150 years. Moreover, the 鈥渋mpressively accomplished鈥� professors at USC 鈥渁re leaders in their field鈥� and 鈥渨ant students to succeed.鈥� As such, they 鈥渄o everything they can to ensure success,鈥� which includes 鈥渁n open door policy and encouraging students to come by with a question.鈥� They're also known 鈥渢o get to know students on a personal level and maintain relationships throughout law school and beyond.鈥� This is helped by their 鈥減assion for teaching the subject that radiates to the students,鈥� giving 鈥渁 fair chance at being successful while still not just handing it to [students].鈥� On top of that, the 鈥渁lways friendly and welcoming鈥� administration 鈥渋s incredibly helpful,鈥� and 鈥減uts a lot of effort into giving the students a good experience.鈥� They 鈥渆ncourage students to speak their minds [and] give their opinions in times of civil discourse.鈥� Additionally, 鈥渁ll of the Deans are very involved and are seen on a daily basis.鈥� Here, 鈥渞esources are very well provided鈥�: 鈥淩esearch librarians will take the time to help with anything,鈥� and there are plenty of support programs including 鈥渢utoring services that were really helpful our 1L year.鈥� The facilities are 鈥渁bsolutely beautiful鈥� and include 鈥渟o much study space and classrooms all with open windows and lots of natural sunlight.鈥� One enrollee sums it up: 鈥淓very square inch of the building, including classrooms and research facilities, is immaculate.鈥�

This is a friendly, southern school 鈥渄eep in the heart of Dixie,鈥� so 鈥渟tudents are very collegial.鈥� That helps 鈥渢he school environment [feel] much like a family unit among students.鈥� Therefore, 鈥渢here is no aggressive or unprofessional behavior to succeed at South Carolina,鈥� as 鈥渁lmost everyone spends time on the weekends and outside of class socializing together.鈥� The atmosphere makes it easy for those at USC to develop 鈥渇riendships with both students and professors.鈥� Most students here will practice in South Carolina after graduation鈥攐ne student shares, 鈥淚t feels like practically every attorney in the state [studied here]鈥濃�斺�渟o civility is a big deal from day one.鈥� Another attendee shares, 鈥淚 have never had a fellow colleague deny assistance to me whether it be help studying, resources to utilize, or catching up on notes.鈥� Overall, this is a 鈥渃ompetitive but supportive鈥� bunch.
