The University of Richmond School of Law educates professionals equally in the theory and the practice of law. They can also choose from in-house clinics such as the Children's Defense Clinic and the Institute for Actual Innocence, which provide socially responsible real-world experience. As one student says, 鈥淩ichmond has the best legal resources in the state without the overwhelming size of a massive city.鈥�

Richmond Law students 鈥渁re learning from the best of the best.鈥� Professors here 鈥渁ll appear to be experts in their particular field鈥� and 鈥渁re very knowledgeable, [working] very hard to help you understand and appreciate the material.鈥� As far as political leanings go, they 鈥渄o a nice job of presenting the various ways in which judges, especially Supreme Court judges, interpret the law and the constitution.鈥� Additionally, the school's small size means 鈥渋t's easy to get know your professors and form great relationships with them,鈥� and they 鈥渁re always able and willing to give 鈥� practical life advice and don't push [students] into their area of practice.鈥� Outside of the classroom, the school 鈥減rovides amazing resources including online research databases, 鈥� helpful law librarians, and responsive career advisors,鈥� and 鈥渘ew resources are constantly being added.鈥� Shedding light on those career services, one student says, 鈥淭he Career Development Office 鈥� is unmatched and has provided me with the guidance, expertise, and confidence to pursue all of my professional goals.鈥� Similarly, members of the administration 鈥渁re willing to have tough conversations and ensure they are addressing student body issues to the best of their ability.鈥�

Richmond itself 鈥渆ncompasses the perfect mix between city and outdoor life, with the James River and 鈥� trails right in the downtown area.鈥� There 鈥渁re always festivals, live music, and food trucks,鈥� and 鈥渕any students live within the city in order to experience the best of both worlds.鈥� It has 鈥渃ountless destinations to bask in nature and eat good food,鈥� says a student. On campus, Richmond Law 鈥渄oes a great job of keeping the friendly and cooperative environment among students,鈥� and 鈥渢here is a great social scene鈥� and 鈥渁 myriad of student organizations.鈥� Still, even with so much going on, one student says, 鈥淓veryone wants to help each other succeed and there is no pressure to compete.鈥� On the whole, 鈥淩ichmond Law is fairly collegial and tight-knit鈥� and 鈥渢here is a down to earth feel to the school.鈥�
