With 鈥渨ell-thought-out spaces that integrate technology鈥� and 鈥減lenty of places for group work and solo study,鈥� this 鈥渉istoric five-story 鈥榗astle鈥欌�� 鈥淸brings] everything together鈥� under one roof, and 鈥済ives [students] the feeling of an open door policy.鈥� Students feel like this harmony and integration is reflected in the curriculum as they have 鈥渘ever experienced school administration and faculty so integrated with student body.鈥� One student explains that the 鈥�1L faculty seems to have a coordinated approach where overlapping topics are presented very close to the same time in different classes.鈥�
OCU Law students are now only 鈥渁 few blocks from both state and federal courthouses and several large law firms,鈥� which 鈥減resent phenomenal opportunities to get plenty of training.鈥� Students are 鈥渁ble to walk to the county courthouse between classes to watch trials.鈥� One student added that the new location 鈥渋s great for networking; I meet Judges and attorneys on a daily basis.鈥� Students also appreciate that the school 鈥渁llows a generous number of credit hours to be satisfied with practical skills [courses].鈥� In fact, most students agree that the 鈥渃linical and externship offerings and practical skills courses, like trial practice and pretrial litigation,鈥� are among the school鈥檚 greatest strengths. Clinics like 鈥渢he school鈥檚 American Indian Wills Clinic where鈥� students learn 鈥渢o draft estate planning devices for Native American clients,鈥� help students learn 鈥渉ow to understand and conform to鈥� a client鈥檚 wishes and 鈥渢ranslate their oral concerns into artfully drafted legal documents.鈥� These clinics help develop 鈥渟kills that improve attorney-client relationships and performance in any legal office,鈥� skills 鈥渢hat most attorneys do not begin to develop until [they are] actually in practice.鈥� Students say that 鈥済etting this head start鈥� makes them 鈥渕ore marketable and flexible in any work environment.鈥�
Some students praise the school for trying 鈥渢o accommodate even more working adults, moms with children, adults returning for career change, police officers and those with disabilities鈥� by offering night classes. Though, this has caused friction with some traditional students who find 鈥渢hat the class scheduling is very difficult to work with鈥� 鈥渂ecause many classes are only offered at night鈥� and 鈥渕ost electives were offered exclusively at night,鈥� others enjoy that the schedule is flexible enough to 鈥渨ork with people who have commitments that keep them busy during the day.鈥� But students universally applaud the professors of those classes as coming 鈥渇rom some of the most respected schools around the nation and [as being] highly regarded as experts in their specialized fields.鈥�

Situated 鈥渋n the heart of downtown Oklahoma City,鈥� students enjoy a host of 鈥渓ocal restaurants, [coffee] shops, and other fun places within just a few blocks of the school鈥� as well as 鈥渁 fantastic outdoor plaza with tables, so students can enjoy sitting outside to study on a pleasant day.鈥� Students say 鈥渢here is ample housing available鈥� nearby, and the central location also 鈥渁llows the students to be more active in the community that most will be serving when they graduate.鈥� And the school encourages that involvement. One student explained that 鈥渢he cost of attendance is high, but scholarships are readily available, as are school payments for internships/externships in areas that serve the public welfare.鈥� Students also keep busy through school organizations and activities: 鈥淐lub membership is high, and those clubs are active,鈥� while 鈥渋t is rare that a weekend goes by where there is not an event to go to.鈥� And the school鈥檚 connections mean that there is never a shortage of 鈥済reat guest speakers from the law community鈥� or 鈥渃onnections in the workforce鈥� that 鈥渉elp students gain internships and jobs.鈥� A 鈥渄iverse student body鈥� paired with 鈥減assionate and committed鈥� faculty and administrators creates a community where 鈥減rofessors know each student in the 1L class by name [on] the 1st day.鈥�
