The University of Tulsa (TU) is a private, comprehensive doctoral-degree-granting university that provides education of the highest quality in the arts, humanities, sciences, engineering, business, education, applied health sciences and law. TU features four undergraduate colleges: the Kendall College of Arts and Sciences, the Collins College of Business, the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the Oxley College of Health Sciences, as well as the College of Law and Graduate School.
TU's 11:1 student/faculty ratio, average class size of 20, and emphasis on individual attention anchor an educational culture where students are rigorously challenged and comprehensively supported.
The university is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities, and is an NCAA Division IA participant in the American Athletic Conference. TU maintains a covenant relationship with the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Extracurricular opportunities include intramural sports, special-interest clubs, pre-professional organizations, national fraternities and sororities, community service organizations, an active student government, departmental honorary organizations and campus ministry groups.
Fall 2020 enrollment was 3,960 with 2,929 undergraduates and 1,031 graduate and law students. The ratio of men to women is 53:47 and 39% are multicultural students. Over half the students are from out of state and international students make up 14% of the student population, with 59 countries represented.

The University of Tulsa College of Law's dynamic Juris Doctor program prepares students to excel in legal and related professions. Outstanding faculty, high-level scholarship, robust experiential learning programs, and an unwavering commitment to public service and professionalism stand at the core of TU Law.
Programs and Curriculum
The Tulsa Curriculum links a humanities-based core and writing for all students across all disciplines. TU students can receive a personalized education that is well rounded. Candidates for graduation must complete at least 124 semester hours of coursework.
The Honors Program engages students in a critical examination of the major epochs and ideas of Western thought and culture through careful study of primary texts. A separate application is required. The Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge (TURC) program combines advanced research, scholarship, and community service.
The Leadership TU program prepares students to maximize their college experience through various service opportunities, in addition to weekly classes and special projects.
The TU Center for Information Security is developing defenses against cyber-terrorist attacks and information warfare. The center supports TU's National Security Agency (NSA)-accredited certificate program in information assurance and a curriculum that integrates information security with computer law and policy issues. TU has been designated a Center of Excellence in Information Assurance by the NSA and is one of six pioneer institutions selected by the National Science Foundation for the Federal Cyber Service Initiative (Cyber Corps).
Air Force ROTC is available through a satellite program.
Students may receive credit through Advanced Placement testing. Depending on their test scores, students who complete the International Baccalaureate diploma can receive up to 30 college credits.
The University of Tulsa operates on a semester calendar. The fall term begins in late August, the spring term in mid-January, and the summer session in late May.

Special Programs
Exceptional clinical and externship opportunities give our students a head start on their legal careers. In spring 2019, The University of Tulsa College of Law offered the most externship placements in our history. Externships match law students with attorneys, judges and organizations to obtain real-world, practical experience for academic credit.

The University of Tulsa College of Law 鈥渓ooks to achieve a high level of student success鈥 by using a rigorous academic curriculum to deliver practice-ready graduates into a variety of fields. On top of that, the school boasts a 6,000-strong alumni network and 鈥渄iverse experiential learning options.鈥 This combination leads to 鈥渕ost students [being] afforded the ability to make strong bonds with their professors and fellow classmates.鈥 The school also puts a lot of 鈥渇ocus on the professional development of the students and their bar passage.鈥 Additionally, there is 鈥渧ery good access to quality practical experience at any time,鈥 and in the second or third year, students have the opportunity to complete an externship under the supervision of a licensed attorney or judge, all while gaining academic credit and client experience. The more than 150 available placements include federal courts, corporate legal departments, and law firms. The TU College of Law Legal Clinic functions as a working law firm, housing the Community Advocacy Clinic, Immigrant Rights Project, and Solo Practice Clinic, which all give students the chance to get their feet wet as court representatives, managing partners, and advocates. Students complete this work all while helping individuals in the local community. 鈥淭he Solo Practice Clinic was a good experience that has prepared me for opening my own firm, or not,鈥 says a student. 鈥淲e worked with asylum seekers in detention, 鈥 and it was valuable training in interviewing potential clients through interpreters.鈥

Strong bar passage (97.47% within two years of graduation) and high job placement rates (88.6% (Class of 2019: full-time, long-term, bar license-required or JD advantage positions within 10 months of graduation) set our graduates on the road to career success.
The University of Tulsa College of Law Professional Development Office works with students on career strategies before they ever enter the classroom, beginning with the one-week Foundations of Legal Study (FLS) orientation program. FLS is designed to equip law students for academic and professional success. Not only do students receive guidance on preparing for class, they tour the federal courthouse and meet the judges; attend social activities with deans, faculty, and alumni; and participate in a public service project organized by the TU Law Public Interest Board.

Estimated costs for the 2021-22 academic year are as follows: the typical cost for students living on campus is $56,660 including $44,422 for tuition, $ for room and board, and $1,435 fees. Additional miscellaneous expenses (including books) average about $4,500 per year.
FINANCIAL AID
Ninety-nine percent of the Fall 2020 incoming class received a merit scholarship.
TU offers a limited number of highly competitive Presidential Scholarships that covers full tuition for eight semesters. All applicants are considered for a range of university scholarships based on academic merit. The University of Tulsa participates in National Merit and National Achievement Scholarship Corporation's Finalist program, and the National Hispanic Scholar Program. Applicants for aid should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after October 1 for priority consideration.

TU Law students come from varied backgrounds, have different career aspirations and accomplish great work by engaging in real-world projects. Recently, TU Law students were involved in Project Commutation, a landmark effort involving several community partners aimed at securing the early release of prisoners from Oklahoma jails.

鈥淭ulsa is a growing city鈥 that is 鈥渜uite easy to navigate.鈥 It's a place that 鈥渁ccommodates 鈥 pretty much all interests,鈥 so 鈥測ou will likely run into people you know throughout your day if you are out and about.鈥 There is a 鈥渇antastic bar district [and] museums.鈥 Plus, 鈥渇estivals [run] all through the summer [while] music and art events run nearly all year-round.鈥 There are also 鈥渘ew restaurants 鈥 constantly opening, along with nightlife.鈥 Overall, 鈥渢he people are friendly,鈥 鈥渉ousing is affordable,鈥 and 鈥渆verything is easy to get to.鈥 It's also a 鈥渧ery inclusive鈥 environment. On campus, the law library houses three law journals and an increasing number of student organizations. 鈥淭here are three floors filled with study carrels and tables by windows for a really open atmosphere with lots of natural light,鈥 as well as 鈥渕ultiple study rooms with whiteboards鈥 for group study. 鈥淪ocial events occur every other week or so and [almost] all students are invited and attend.鈥 Here, 鈥渋t's easy to find your niche group鈥 amongst this 鈥渕ore cooperative than competitive鈥 bunch. And you can rest assured that if there are any issues, 鈥渢hey are resolved very quickly due to the size of the school.鈥

From concerts and art festivals to sporting events and performing arts, Tulsa has it all. The TU campus is just two miles away from downtown and the Tulsa Arts District. Among its many accolades, Tulsa was recently named #5 among America's top small cities (ResonanceCo.com 2019) and received the award for the country's best new attraction — the Gathering Place (USA Today 2019).
Facilities
The TU College of Law features modern classrooms, a high-tech moot courtroom for legal practice, and a comprehensive law library for students, faculty and the local legal community. This year, TU Law was selected by preLaw Magazine the Best Law Buildings Honor Roll.
The Mabee Legal Information Center serves as the law library of The University of Tulsa College of Law. The MLIC houses three law journals, centers and certificate programs and a growing alumni organization and associated activities.
