It鈥檚 not hard to understand why MBA students would be compelled to attend University of Northern Iowa. Indeed, it鈥檚 a 鈥渨ell-respected business school鈥 and offers 鈥渃ompetitive tuition鈥 rates. And, with a very accommodating class schedule, it鈥檚 clearly a program that鈥檚 designed to support individuals who are 鈥渨orking full-time.鈥 In fact, many of the 鈥渕ajor businesses in the area send employees [to UNI],鈥 which leads to some fabulous networking opportunities.
Academically, MBA candidates are privy to 鈥渟mall classes鈥 that allow for individual attention. Moreover, courses tend to place 鈥渁n emphasis on teamwork.鈥 Students especially rave about the capstone business consulting project which 鈥渢akes everything the students have learned and challenges them to apply [that] knowledge to local businesses or nonprofits with the guidance of mentors.鈥 The capstone is a 鈥渇antastic鈥 educational experience and these MBAs relish the 鈥渙pportunity to solve a real business problem.鈥
Additionally, UNI professors 鈥渂ring a lot of experience and knowledge to the MBA program.鈥 For the most part, they are also 鈥渞esponsive to students鈥 needs,鈥 and they 鈥渒now [how to] present the material well.鈥 The 鈥渆fficient鈥 administration earns high marks as well. As one second-year gushes, 鈥淭he amount of administrative . . . support is amazing relative to the number of students. Turnaround on questions is very fast and the administration can support an advising need in short-notice.鈥 And, finally, perhaps this first-year says it best by simply referring to the faculty and staff as 鈥渁wesome.鈥
