At ISU鈥檚 College of Business, full-time students will work side-by-side with 鈥渙lder individuals with families and twenty-plus years of full-time professional experience.鈥 As many as half the attendees are part-time students, juggling the burdens of work, home, and family on top of a challenging body of academics. According to one student, 鈥淐oming to school is a quiet break from reality where I get to interact with many diverse and interesting people.鈥 One might think this mix would divide classrooms, but 鈥渢he atmosphere鈥 promotes interaction amongst all the sections of students,鈥 with both longtime professionals and younger students learning from one another. The small size of ISU鈥檚 MBA program means it has 鈥渁 close-knit student population,鈥 a group of 鈥渇riendly, helpful鈥 classmates who make sure 鈥渢he atmosphere is always positive.鈥
Diversity among the student population extends to the student body鈥檚 place of origin. A large portion of the student population 鈥渁re either international or have a strong inter- national background.鈥 The positive atmosphere extends to this portion of the student body, too. 鈥淭he students are friendly and there is a shared culture of learning for growth opportunity鈥攑rofessionally and personally鈥攏ot just to acquire the degree.鈥
For those whose primary daily responsibilities revolve around school, there is no shortage of things to do when class is over. 鈥淭here is always something going on over the weekend, especially during the summer,鈥 students enthuse, indicating that 鈥渙ver- all, quality of life is good and a good stress-buster from the hectic study schedules.鈥 Athletics, a wealth of student organizations, and a campus with easily accessible facilities make filling downtime simple.
