Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, California State University, East Bay鈥檚 College of Business and Economics offers an 鈥渆xcellent curriculum and professors,鈥 鈥済reat location,鈥 as well as flexible schedule for working students. The college also boasts a 鈥渧ery inclusive and diverse culture鈥 without the 鈥渃ut-throat鈥 mentality found at so many other business schools. Instead, CSUEB encourages a 鈥渃ollaborative/helpful approach to get to the finish line whether that be to survive a tough class or to reach graduation.鈥

Students say the greatest strength of CSUEB鈥檚 College of Business and Economics is 鈥渢he instructors.鈥 Professors here are 鈥渆xcellent in all areas,鈥 and 鈥渞eally knowledgeable, skillful, and kind.鈥 They 鈥渁re invested in the learning and growth of their students,鈥 notes one student. The professors 鈥渢ake extra time and give great advice鈥 and 鈥渨ant to facilitate real learning and instill long-lasting knowledge.鈥 Many professors are 鈥渆stablished in their fields and careers so they have a very strong knowledge around what they teach.鈥 Because of this they are 鈥渁ble to provide a practical look at things and how what you鈥檙e learning in class will help you in the real world.鈥 鈥淚t is nice to learn about how things should be,鈥 says one student, 鈥渁nd as a business owner, I strive to push my business objectives using the ideals that I learn in my academic life.鈥 Furthermore, the 鈥減rofessors in the MBA program treat students like colleagues rather than students and that is very much appreciated.鈥 While students gave glowing reviews to their professors overall, some students noted that there were 鈥渕ore male professors than female,鈥 and that they 鈥渨ould love to see/hear about women in business more often.鈥 In fall 2015, the College says it will maintain a 3:2 (male to female) faculty ratio with 39 percent female faculty in the regular faculty body, up 6 percent from fall 2014.

Overall, students say their professors 鈥渁re easy to access and are generally prompt with email responses.鈥 They are 鈥渧ery helpful and make time for students before and after class.鈥 And students also find the administration 鈥渁ccessible鈥 and 鈥渉elpful.鈥 One students notes: 鈥淭he administration has been very accommodating to ensure that I am able to graduate on time by offering additional classes that meet my needs.鈥 CSUEB is a great fit for students looking for a flexible, supportive, and challenging learning environment in a beautiful setting.
