Located only minutes away from Los Angeles’ business hub, the College of Business & Economics offers the ideal situation for students pursuing their graduate business degree while gaining exposure to a huge urban laboratory where many kinds of business can thrive.
The College has the added luxury of being in the middle of a diverse set of neighboring communities and it gives our students a better understanding of the expanding landscape of business that they will soon be venturing into. Furthermore, on-campus events like the annual Business Pitch and other competitions bring our students together to collaborate and share new perspectives and experiences from within the Cal State L.A. community.

Facilities
The Cal State L.A. campus offers a variety of facilities that are open to graduate students from the College of Business & Economics. A 2-winged library sits adjacent to the newly renovated student union that is populated by numerous restaurants and outdoor dining areas. A few yards in either direction finds you next to the Luckman Fine Arts Complex or the University Athletics Center. Exclusive to the College of Business & Economics are the Nongshim Innovation Lab and 2 computer labs where graduate students can utilize state of the art technology to develop their ideas and collaborate with peers.

As many of our students have full-time work responsibilities, our graduate business programs are designed to enable them to realize their career ambitions while successfully balancing their professional schedules. Typically, new students can expect to obtain their degrees within 18-24 months.
The College of Business & Economics is designed to offer a range of business disciplines to concentrate in while also providing a strong foundation giving students an enterprise-wide view. Our MBA provides our students with knowledge that widens their perspective and helps them to think strategically. For instance, an MBA candidate in marketing can expect to finish our program more experienced in quantitative areas of business, which becomes an asset to the student as they begin to work with the data that defines their marketing goals.

Cal State L.A. has many services available to all of its graduate students. Within the College of Business & Economics, the Student Services Center is available to offer services exclusive to our graduate students. Our Placement Coordinator is available to help our graduate students connect with Cal State L.A. partners for career and internship opportunities and hosts multiple workshops and events throughout the year. In addition, a full-time faculty advisor and international office are available to serve all our graduate students. Currently, the College of Business & Economics is partnered with local employers such as NBCUniversal, Boeing, NASA JPL, UPS, and many others.

Residing in Southern California, our student body is extremely diverse and provides the backdrop for an educational experience that cannot be obtained anywhere but here. While many of our students are Los Angeles natives, a growing number of them are international and continue to bring a new sense of diversity as cultures from around the world converge in our programs.
The average age of our graduate students is 28 years old and typically they have several years of work experience (domestic or international). Typically, our students are in our program as a means for career development or career advancement.
