Most here say that McGeorge's great strength is its 鈥渁wesome professors.鈥 鈥淰ery few of them are the dry, stuffy professors you expect to have in law school鈥; instead, they're 鈥渨itty, friendly, very accessible, and sociable.鈥 鈥淚t's refreshing to see that they don't take themselves too seriously. Law school is just that much more fun when a professor is willing to show up to class wearing a twisted-balloon bow tie,鈥 says a student. They 鈥渁re always willing to meet and talk with a student鈥 and also 鈥済reat about not only attending school sponsored events but also show up to unofficial events.鈥 For the most part, the 鈥渟trong trial advocacy programs鈥 and comprehensive curriculum 鈥渋s well tailored to the student body,鈥 and professors 鈥渨ant more than anything for us students to become that knowledgeable and quick.鈥
Another strength is the faculty scholarship. 鈥淚 am constantly recommending to friends at other law schools supplements that were authored by Pacific McGeorge faculty simply because they are the best supplements,鈥 says a second year. Administration is as accessible as the faculty, and even the Dean has held 鈥渁 r茅sum茅 review session to give individuals advice on their r茅sum茅s.鈥 The writing program could use some work to become more flexible, according to some, because 鈥渁lthough the program sounds good on paper, it fails to achieve its goals because of the way it is implemented.鈥 The global lawyering skills (GLS) program 鈥渆mphasizes legal writing and oral argument, which is essential for becoming a skilled lawyer鈥; while it is not without its merits, many agree that it 鈥渢akes up too many credit hours,鈥 and 鈥渢he idea that it is known in the region is not, in all likelihood, a function of its success.鈥
Classrooms are 鈥渘ice and clean,鈥 and a renovation of the library has been completed: it is 鈥渓arge, aesthetic,鈥 and 鈥済orgeous,鈥 making it 鈥渁 good place to study.鈥 The library staff goes 鈥渁bove and beyond the call of duty in locating difficult-to-find sources.鈥 Job placements 鈥渃ould be much better,鈥 however, and students agree that a better reputation would help out greatly. 鈥淵our degree is only worth what job it gets you,鈥 says one. Luckily, for those remaining in the area, 鈥渢he school faces little competition from other schools,鈥 and alumni 鈥渁re always anxious to help out students.鈥 Some wish the bar passage rates would go up, and agree that 鈥渋t would be helpful if we were specifically told which electives we should take that would increase our chances of passing the bar.鈥

Students Say
While the neighborhood around the school is 鈥渓ess than ideal,鈥 the campus 鈥渋s constantly working to ensure the students feel safe,鈥 and public safety is 鈥渁lways available and easily accessible.鈥 There is a 鈥渓ack of on-campus housing,鈥 so most students commute to school every day. The campus itself is lovely, with brick buildings, 鈥渕assive trees,鈥 and a gorgeous quad with a gazebo. 鈥淭he campus is extremely beautiful and it has all the resources one could wish for a law school to have,鈥 says a student. McGeorge also cares about the environment: there's an on-campus community garden and a student-run sustainability committee which works with the administration to make the school more sustainable.
