Academics

The Pamplin School of Business Administration at the University of Portland features some of the Pacific Northwest鈥檚 top-notch faculty and a curriculum 鈥渋ntegrating professional experience into academic concepts.鈥 The program administrator has made this 鈥渨onderfully run鈥 program 鈥渆xtremely easy to do while working,鈥 as many do, and the university even offers some tuition discounts to those who are seeking Nonprofit Management degrees (a notable program here), as well as scholarships for international students. The school is part of JEBNET, Jesuit Education in Business Network, which is a network of thirty AACSB-accredited universities nationwide that share similarly 鈥渟trong mission statements鈥 and provide students the ability to transfer credits and complete their MBA at another university.

The 鈥済ood atmosphere within the classroom鈥 is built on the foundation of 鈥渟ome of the most engaged professors I have had,鈥 according to one student. They 鈥渟eem to really enjoy what they are teaching and a majority do a great job engaging students,鈥 and 鈥渁re just as invested in your academic and career advancement鈥 as the individual themselves. 鈥淢ost of [the] professors treat me as their family or friends, and I鈥檝e learned a lot of practical things from my school,鈥 says a student. Varied experiential backgrounds help instructors to provide a well-rounded curriculum.

The school鈥檚 Catholic ties result in 鈥渁n ideals driven environment,鈥 one that also happens to be 鈥渦nderstanding of students working while attending classes.鈥 Most of the students are able to 鈥渨ork with professors one on one鈥 outside of class. 鈥淭he staff is amazing and the professors are intense, but it鈥檚 an MBA program, so what鈥檇 you expect?!鈥 says one happy student.
