Academics
The Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana offers students at various stages of their careers a 鈥渟trong brand,鈥 鈥渋ntellectually challenging鈥 academics, 鈥10/10鈥 professors, an 鈥渙utstanding alumni network,鈥 and an underlying foundation of 鈥渋ntegrity and ethics.鈥 The two-year MBA program is composed of two seven-week modules in four semesters, which allows students to add electives and experiential learning. The one-year program is also highly ranked. The 鈥渃urriculum and concentrations are set up very well,鈥 with the required core classes offering a 鈥済ood mix,鈥 preparing students 鈥渇or the types of questions鈥sked in interviews鈥 and previewing the kind of work students will do in their summer internships. Faculty is 鈥渟tellar,鈥 particularly in the finance and accounting departments, and collectively are an 鈥渋ncredible blend of academi[cs]鈥 and 鈥渋ndustry leaders.鈥 Mendoza offers signature classes like 鈥淎pplied Investment Management鈥 and 鈥淏usiness on the Frontlines鈥 and generally espouses a philosophy of 鈥渂usiness as a force for good.鈥 This philosophy correlates with Notre Dame鈥檚 tradition as a mission-focused Catholic college. Some students have remarked that university administration could be 鈥渕ore supportive of the MBA program,鈥 but, overall, does a decent job. The 2018-2019 year will usher in a new dean, and students report being 鈥渆xcited for the potential new vision the school鈥 will pursue. The recent addition of the MBA/MS Business Analytics dual degree program reflects the growing trend across business schools in offering joint degree programs and specialization. Scholarship aid is 鈥済enerous鈥 and especially supportive of military veterans.
