School's environmental commitment 1:

UCLA Anderson's new building, Marion Anderson Hall, is certified LEED Platinum (the highest level) and won multiple awards including The Chicago Athenaeum?s Green Good Design Sustainability Award for Green Architecture in 2021. Some highlights include: - Low-E glass - Green roofs - Solar shading - HVAC DDC (Direct Digital Control), which automatically monitors temperature, while responding with minor adjustments to allow the system to run at a lower capacity and reduced energy usage. UCLA Anderson installed 15 water bottle filler stations throughout the complex that tie directly into our potable water lines, so that there would be no more 5-gallon water bottle dispensers. The school has also continued converting older classrooms to LED lighting, including three large rooms that were completed in 2023.

UCLA Anderson's Center for Impact received a Green Business Certification from the City of Los Angeles for its sustainable office space.

As part of UCLA's sustainability initiative, all new or replaced landscaping is drought tolerant, indigenous, or in alignment with biodiversity efforts. The UCLA campus encourages ?green events? with a Green Events Guide and opportunity for Green Events Certification. UCLA and UCLA Anderson utilize an HVAC backbone of chilled water and steam from UCLA's energy efficient on-campus cogeneration plant. The school has also switched to toilet paper that is made from recycled sugar cane and bamboo, which have a much lower carbon footprint than standard tree-based paper.
