Academics
The Boler School of Business at John Carroll University offers a part-time MBA program for working professionals with at least two years of work experience and a full-time one year accelerated program (fifth-year) for recent graduates. Unlike traditional MBA programs, the part-time 鈥淢BA is focused around solving real business problems鈥 and learning about the decisions business leaders have to make. Every class starts with a real problem, posed by a regional company, and 鈥渙ver the semester, students learn tools to help solve the company鈥檚 problem.鈥 These unique courses 鈥渁re designed to challenge students to leverage all business disciplines鈥 and learn about project management, leadership, innovation, and resource allocation, instead of separating knowledge fields by theme or topic. This helps students 鈥渁bsorb relevant knowledge鈥 and learn 鈥渢o solve problems from a multi-discipline perspective鈥 and approach them 鈥渇rom a holistic point of view.鈥 This is particularly helpful to 鈥渢hose who work full time鈥 because they can 鈥渋mmediately put into practice theories they鈥檝e learned in their current profession.鈥
Students think the majority of professors are great and appreciate that they 鈥渁re connected to community business leaders.鈥 Professors 鈥渢end to have real-world experience鈥 and are 鈥渒nowledgeable in their fields.鈥 Additionally, they are 鈥渇riendly鈥 and 鈥渉elpful,鈥 and are willing to 鈥済o the extra mile to ensure a great education and comprehension of material.鈥 Students appreciate the flexibility of the program and the 鈥渃onvenient scheduling鈥 that allows them to vary the number of classes they take each semester. John Carroll is really about putting students first, and with its affordable tuition and 鈥渟tellar鈥 local reputation, it鈥檚 no surprise students are so 鈥渋mpressed鈥 with the program.
