Loyola鈥檚 Sellinger School of Business and Management is anchored by core Jesuit beliefs. It offers a 鈥渧alue-based鈥 education that emphasizes 鈥渞eflective learning鈥 and the importance of ethical behavior and leadership skills. All students must take two courses in the Law and Social Responsibility department: one on legal and regulatory compliance and another on ethics and social responsibility. The department also offers electives, such as legal and managerial issues in not-for-profit organizations and intersections among power, privilege, and professional identity for those wanting to further specialize in the area. Students say they 鈥渁ppreciate the Jesuit influence鈥 and name the Jesuit 鈥渃ommitment to excellence鈥 and 鈥渟trong belief in business ethics鈥 as reasons for picking the school.

Loyola is dedicated to its students and offers four different MBA programs, at two locations, with varying delivery methods. This ensures that students鈥 needs are met, and that they are not forced into a cookie-cutter program. The most popular program is the part-time Professional MBA, which offers evening classes and the freedom to vary the number of credits students take each semester. The MBA Fellows program is designed for professionals with managerial experience and has Saturday classes only. The Executive MBA is a cohort program for seasoned professionals that meets all day Friday and Saturday every other weekend. Loyola鈥檚 Emerging Leaders MBA is a fulltime, twelve-month accelerated program for early career students. The school also offers an MS in finance and a certificate in accounting and cyber security. All of these programs have a 鈥済reat reputation鈥 and a reasonable price.

Loyola鈥檚 part-time programs 鈥渃ater to working individuals鈥 and give them 鈥渇lexibility and greater control鈥 over the curriculum. Classes are offered at convenient times in locations close to the Baltimore area. All programs require a set of core classes to ensure students have a wide and strong understanding of the business world, but some professional MBA students may find requirements waived if they graduated from college in the past few years and received high grades in similar courses. After completing these courses, professional MBA students may concentrate in accounting, finance, information systems, international business, management, or marketing. Classes are challenging and require group projects. While theory is taught, the program emphasizes 鈥渨here business and the country are headed, and how to be a part of that.鈥 One student loves that 鈥渕any of the concepts taught can be applied as both an entrepreneur and corporate executive.鈥 Loyola鈥檚 professors fall at 鈥渂oth ends of the spectrum.鈥 Students find the full-time faculty is 鈥渋ncredible鈥 and 鈥渧ery effective and encouraging.鈥 Some of the adjunct professors, however, should 鈥渟imply stick with their day jobs.鈥 The administration also gets mixed reviews, but most find them 鈥渇antastic to work with.鈥 When you consider Loyola鈥檚 鈥済reat reputation,鈥 price, and willingness to support student success, it鈥檚 no wonder students say going there is a 鈥済reat experience.鈥
