From the School
Saba University School of Medicine (Saba) was founded in 1992 with the goal of providing an excellent medical education and expansive career opportunities for dedicated students, while maintaining an affordable tuition that enables them to practice as physicians with far less debt than other similarly credentialed schools. Our Saba students are taught in optimal class sizes that are significantly smaller than similar medical schools, thus enabling our students to receive more individualized attention and interact more with the professor. Saba faculty have exceptional qualifications, with an advanced degree or doctorate in the subject that they teach. The curriculum emphasizes greater integration between case-based learning and clinical skills development while also providing excellent preparation for the important USMLE Step One exam Between 2015 and 2019, Saba University students achieved a first-time pass rate on the USMLE Step 1 exam of 99%, a testament to the excellent quality of education we provide. Saba graduates have a notable record of success, with a 94% residency attainment rate between 2018-2019, and are currently practicing medicine in all specialties across the United States and Canada.
Saba is a municipality of the Netherlands, and is accredited by the NVAO, the institution that accredits medical schools in the Netherlands. Additionally, Saba University is approved by New York and Florida and recognized by California. These accreditations, approvals and recognitions enable our graduates to be licensed to practice medicine throughout the United States and Canada. Saba University's students also have access to US Title IV loans to pay for their education. Saba has three start terms per year: September, January and May.
