From The School
Students applying for undergraduate admission should submit a Common Application or a UNE Application and transcripts of all academic work (high school and college if applicable). UNE uses a test-blind admissions policy, which means we will not consider ACT or SAT scores for general admission. Instead, we review a student's high school experience as a whole. Please see our for more information.
UNE's nonbinding Early Action deadline for fall term admission is November 15. The regular decision deadline is February 15. Applications received after the deadline are reviewed on a space-available basis. Applications for the spring term are accepted through January 5.
All prospective students are encouraged to visit UNE. Campus tours are offered most weeks Monday-Saturday with additional visit opportunities available, including academic information sessions, open houses, as well as virtual events. More information is available at .

Students Say
When it comes to professors, students say, "UNE finds experts in their field to teach," a policy that opens the door for many undergraduate students to do graduate-level research and publish articles. And despite being the largest private university in Maine, many students still enjoy small class sizes and "build personal relationships with their professors, which in turn can lead to research opportunities." It can be a struggle, though, which is why it's nice that many professors know their students by name and are "always there to help us when needed" and that the Student Academic Success Center provides tutors to assist in everything "from writing papers to website building to math class."

Students Say
Those who prefer indoor activities will also find much to do. On the scholarly side, there's the "innovative" Makerspace, a "fully equipped laboratory for creating and building," where students from all disciplines come to realize their ideas. There's also fun trivia or "Wicked Big Bingo." There's even a mix of both inside and outside participation for things like bird watching, where avid participants can either take to the forest or relax by spotting species "from the second floor of the commons."
UNE is "definitely not a party school"-in fact, the dining hall and library are referred to as "the heart of the campus." There are, however, weekend gatherings on campus and "things to do in Biddeford; you don't have to drive to Portland." School spirit is also notably high for hockey-so much so that you might not be able to find parking!
