Academics
Stockton University offers 鈥渁 warm and welcoming environment to help students grow academically and socially.鈥 It鈥檚 the sort of school, according to undergrads, that 鈥渨ill go above and beyond to make sure a student is settled and comfortable.鈥 To do this, the school offers a relatively low price tag, a location students love, and small class sizes that 鈥渕ake student-teacher interaction 鈥 simple and easy compared to large lecture halls.鈥 Those conversations are enhanced by wonderful teachers that are 鈥渉elpful, informative, and willing to do anything for you to succeed outside and inside the class.鈥 (The faculty is also said to 鈥済ive great life advice.鈥) Overall, professors come off as 鈥減leasant and down-to-earth,鈥 and appear to be 鈥渢ruly in love with their careers and [act as though] they truly care about their students.鈥
The classroom鈥檚 not the only place to get a Stockton education. Undergrads note that the school鈥檚 programs 鈥渙ffer lots of hands-on, real-world experience鈥 through 鈥渞esearch, internships, and on-campus jobs.鈥 Two such examples are the 鈥済ood partnerships with the FAA and Atlanticare Hospital that create a lot of internships.鈥
Student Body
The student body at Stockton has plenty of words to describe themselves, including: 鈥渦nique,鈥 鈥渇riendly,鈥 鈥渃asual,鈥 and 鈥渨elcoming.鈥 While some definitely bemoan the fact that there are 鈥渇ew students who come from surrounding states and even fewer who come from further away,鈥 others stress that their peers are still 鈥渧ery diverse and different from one another.鈥 It鈥檚 a large school, and some claim that 鈥測ou never see the same person twice.鈥 Even still, one student claims that 鈥渆veryone feels comfortable around one another鈥 at Stockton. That includes students of any age, which one student supports by adding, 鈥淚 [think] Stockton is a great school for people of any age to come back to in order to get a degree later in life.鈥 Then again, perhaps it鈥檚 easy to get along when these 鈥渃urious,鈥 鈥渉ard working鈥 students 鈥渁ll share a common goal: to succeed.鈥
Campus Life
You鈥檒l have plenty of opportunities for socializing at Stockton: Students frequently 鈥渃ongregate in the main campus center 鈥 or in the food court where you can eat with your friends and watch TV.鈥 Plus, there are 鈥渓ots of fun and free events鈥 on campus, including bingo, craft, and movie nights. Those looking for exercise are also pleased, as 鈥減eople take advantage of the trails鈥 around campus and 鈥渦tilize the gym 鈥 all the time.鈥 For more outdoor fun, 鈥測ou can rent hammocks 鈥 on campus, as well as camping gear, kayaks, and canoes all for free.鈥 And even those who are seeking some entertainment off-campus will not be disappointed: Ocean City and Atlantic City are both close enough that students often take trips over the weekend. Note that since 鈥渢he school has a lot of commuters,鈥 you might find 鈥渢here aren鈥檛 a lot of people on campus during the weekends.鈥
